Zoo's Tembo Trail set to re-open May 18

TOLEDO, OH (PRESS RELEASE) - Tembo Trail, home to the Toledo Zoo’s dynamic new elephant exhibit, is slated to open Friday, May 18.

Although the centerpiece of the new project is the $15 million elephant facility, funded by Lucas County 2006 capital levy voters and the zoo’s private capital campaign, Tembo Trail is more than elephants; it’s a fresh new look and feel to the area formerly known as the Savanna.

Symphony and amateurs to play side by side April 20

Amateur musicians will play side by side with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra (TSO) on April 20 at the inaugural ProAm Concert.

The idea came from TSO Conductor Stefan Sanderling, who performed similar professional-amateur concerts in Chautauqua, N.Y. The concert gives amateurs of all skill levels a chance to play under the conductor and alongside professional musicians.
