Camp and Travel RV Show opens Friday at SeaGate Centre | Events
If this winter weather has you dreaming of getting away from it all, the Seagate Center is hosting just the event for you.
Today is the first day of the weekend long "Camp and Travel RV Show".
Visitors are expected to fill the Seagate Center all weekend long at this year's event.
Hundreds of different types of RV's are on display, from fold downs, to travel trailers, all the way to the large luxury motor homes.
Along with camping and accessory vendors, there's something for every walk of life.
"Families with young children like to start with the entry level fold down campers that sell for the 4 or 5 thousand dollar range. All the way up to the retired mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, that sell their house and buy a motor home and head across country,” said Dave Brown, the Director of the 2013 Camp and Travel RV Show. Brown is also a member of the North West Ohio RV Dealers Association.
Much like the auto industry, the RV industry has been able to pull itself out of the recession. But it has also been adapting to rising gas prices.
"The trailers are being made lighter, they're easier to tow. So therefore your towing vehicle won't use as much gasoline. And motor homes are becoming more and more fuel efficient. We have a couple in the show that approach 20 miles per gallon on the highway,” said Brown.
Promoters not only hope that RV enthusiasts find what they want, but that newcomers visit the show to get introduced to the world of the RV.
The show is open 10 to 9 on Friday and Saturday, and 10 to 5 on Sunday. Call 419-255-3300 or go to www.nwohiorvdealers.com for more information.
