TOLEDO, OH (PRESS RELEASE) – Jay Shafer, founder of the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company and a recognized leader in the small living movement, is the next featured speaker in the Masters Series at the Toledo Museum of Art.

Steven Litt, art and architecture writer for The Plain Dealer, will lead a wide-ranging discussion with Shafer about the tiny house movement, art, architecture and urban design at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8 in the Peristyle. Sponsored by the Museum’s Ambassadors, the program is free and open to the public.

The seventh annual “Kids in the Kitchen event presented by the Junior League of Toledo and funded by The Anderson’s, Inc. will be held Saturday October 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The event is free and open to any Toledo area student age 6-12.

The event will be held at Seagate Center, 401 Jefferson Avenue, Toledo.

Mud Hens to hold ‘Lunch and a Game’ event August 2

The Toledo Mud Hens will play a special weekday game Tuesday, August 2.  Lunch and a game ticket are avaliable for $12.

Toledo Zoo to offer ‘Watch it Grow’ garden tour series beginning June 15

Stroll through the Toledo Zoo’s beautiful gardens and see how they grow, bloom and change throughout the season.  Different aspects of gardening will be highlighted each month along with historical information about the gardens, greenhouses, and Conservatory.

Reynolds Corner Library to host ‘Basic Food Home Preservation’ event May 17

The Lucas County Ohio State University Extension Office and the Reynolds Corner Library will present a free ‘Basic Food Home Preservation’ event Tuesday, May 17.

The event will highlight common food preservation techniques such as canning, freezing, and drying fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs from a home garden or farmer’s market.

The event will be held from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Corner Library, 4833 Dorr St in Toledo, and is free and open to the public.
