Northwest State receives $5 million grant from US Department of Labor

ARCHBOLD, OH (PRESS RELEASE) – Northwest State Community College has received a $5 million grant from the United States Department of Labor to be used for workforce development training. The grant, awarded through the H-1B Technical Skills Training Grant Competition, will fund education, training and job placement assistance for the long-term unemployed. Northwest State will lead the grant in partnership with WSOS Community Action, the Center for Innovative Food Technology and Ruralogic.

TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Through November 19, the south Toledo Magic Wok location, along with all other Toledo area locations, will be collecting food for the Cherry Street Mission.

Customers can drop off non-perishable food items, and in return can purchase an entree for $2.99.

Thank you to everyone who attended Schlotzky’s Deli Night.  The Monday, September 12th event was a success and we appreciate all TFA family members, friends and community members that came out and supported us.                  

If you want to continue to support TFA stay tuned for more dates and times about other fundraising nights at Schlotzky’s Deli this fall and winter.

Toledo Football Academy (TFA) and Schlotzsky’s Deli night

TFA is very pleased to partner with Schlotzsky’s Deli for some fundraising evenings!

Schlotzsky’s will offer 15% of their proceeds from TFA members who purchase food at their deli on individual evenings to be announced during fall and winter. Our first evening will be Monday, September 12th from 5:00pm through 10:00pm. In order to help TFA raise funds all you have to do is inform their staff you are with TFA!

All proceeds will go towards scholarships and additional uniform pieces for existing TFA players.

Interested buyers in the Tony Packo's Inc. receivership case are to be disclosed in a court filing next week.  Lucas County Common Pleas Court Judge Gene Zmuda ordered Skutch Co. Ltd. Friday to submit a filing by Wednesday outlining names and bid details for each party seeking to buy the assets of Tony Packo's. Skutch will recommend one of the bids for judicial approval...
